Sri Lankan Army troops have returned home after completing their peacekeeping mission in Mali.
The deployment involved 1,099 Officers and Other Ranks, along with 14 staff Officers, as part of the UN Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission.
The mission generated over 14,524 million rupees in foreign exchange for Sri Lanka.
During the operations, three Sri Lankan soldiers were killed by improvised explosive devices, and 34 others were injured.
The mission concluded with Colonel Pinsara Wickramarachchi handing over the UN flag to Major General Dinesh Nanayakkara at Bandaranaike International Airport.
