The Sri Lanka Banks’ Association (SLBA) has congratulated President Anura Kumara Dissanayake on his party’s resounding victory at the Parliamentary election and pledged its support to the new government in the challenging journey ahead.
The Association, which represents all licenced banks in Sri Lanka, also noted that its recent interactions with the Presidential Secretariat has given it confidence in the President’s inclusive approach to problem solving.
In a statement, the SLBA said: “The people of Sri Lanka have placed their trust in you and your team, and we are confident that you will lead the nation towards prosperity with transparency and accountability. The banking sector is committed to supporting your government in the challenging journey ahead. We understand the importance of maintaining political and social stability, which is underpinned by a strong economy. As a lynchpin in this structure, the banking sector is fully committed to ensuring financial stability.
