Cabinet has approved a proposal from the Health Minister to purchase another 6 million doses of the Russian manufactured Sputnik V COVID-19 vaccine.
The Government had earlier purchased 7 million doses of the Sputnik V vaccine at a cost of USD 9.95 each for a sum of USD 69.65 million based on the recommendation of the Cabinet Appointed Negotiation Committee.
The new batch of 6 million doses of the vaccine will be purchases at the same price.
