Sri Lanka's cash stricken government solely handled by President Gotabya Rajapaksa recently is continuing a money printing spree.
This was the first time that the central bank in its 72-year history has resorted to such an arbitrary action by printing Rs 119.08 billion on Wednesday to maintain the daily cash flow in a balance of payment crisis, Finance Ministry sources revealed.
The total money stock printed during the present regime headed by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa was Rs. 1.77 trillion since January 1 2021 up to now.
