The Foreign Ministry has been directed by the President to study the situation in Afghanistan and make public Sri Lanka's positions on the developments there, Media Minister Dullas Alahapperuma said.
Addressing the first post-cabinet news conference after assuming duties as the Media Minister, he said, as a member country of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) Sri Lanka was looking at the issue sensitively.
He said, however Sri Lanka's position will be known in a statement by Foreign Ministry.
