Eight houses and two business establishments were damaged due to strong winds that came with torrential rains in the Moratuwa area last night.
Moratuwa Divisional Secretary B.A.D. Chinthaka stated that much of the damage to houses was due to roofing sheets being torn off by winds.
The winds also uprooted several trees in the area and emergency services were at work this morning removing them.
