Showers will occur time to time in Western, Southern and North Western provinces today (06), the Meteorology Department said.
Afternoon thundershowers are expected in Sabaragamuwa, Central, Eastern and Uva provinces. Heavy mist will also be present in Sabaragamuwa, Central and Uva provinces in the morning. Kalutara recorded the highest rainfall during the last 24 hours.
The Department said the severe cyclonic storm 'MICHAUNG' over west central Bay of Bengal has crossed the Andra Pradesh coast of India and is gradually weakening.
