The Horana Special Crime Investigation Unit has arrested a suspect who had allegedly defrauded Rs. 20 million from investors.
The suspect had been operating an anthurium importation business together with a gem business at Kananvila, Horana. He had asked investors to invest money in the business and had then defrauded the investors of about Rs. 20 million.
The 47-year-old suspect was arrested yesterday following a lengthy investigation and is due to be produced before the Horana Magistrate today.
