Suspect arrested with 510 grams of heroin

A suspect transporting 510 grams of heroin was arrested by officers from the Colombo Crime Division (CCD) today in Dematagoda.

Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said the suspect was taken into custody while transporting the drugs in a vehicle. He added that information has been uncovered that a drug dealer currently imprisoned at the Kalutara Prison is behind this particular drug racket.

The suspect is to be produced before court where police hope to obtain a seven day detention order against him for further interrogation.
