Officers from the Mannar Crime Investigation Unit have arrested a 35-year-old man with 1.1 kilograms of cocaine in his possession.
The suspect, a resident of Mannar, was taken into custody last morning near the gate of the Thalpadu Grounds in Mannar. Further investigations are being conducted by the Mannar Police.
Former Speaker and NPP MP Asoka Ranwala was arrested today following a road accident in the Denimulla area of Sapugaskanda last night, police said.
