A suspect who was in possession of a locally manufactured12-gauge gun was arrested with two-gauge bullets, 70 T-56 live ammunition and 28 bullets yesterday during a raid carried out by the officials of Morawaka Police Station following a tip-off, police said.
The suspect was identified as a 31-year-old resident of Meegahawatta, Morawaka area. The suspect has been remanded till March13 after being produced before Morawaka Magistrate Court yesterday. Further investigations are underway by the Morawaka Police.
