A 35 year old wanted for a murder, was shot dead by the Police, during an attempt to arresthim on Thursday night.
On September 20, a 30 year old was murdered and another injured, who is currently undergoing treatment in the Gampaha Hospital ICU, in the process of preventing a robbery in Akarawita, where the two suspects, a husband and wife escaped.
On the night of September 29, the Gampaha Division Crime Investigation Unit Police officers arrived in the Kotugoda area, on information that the suspects had hidden in a house being constructed in the area.
Police claim that in the raid, the male suspect had attacked the Police with a knife, where Police opened fire. The suspect was heavily injured and died upon being admitted to the Gampaha Hospital.
His 26 year old wife, who supported the robberies and the murder, was arrested. It is revealed that the couple was heavily addicted to drugs.
The court case regarding the robberies and murder is being proceeded, while the Gampaha Police are conducting further investigation under the supervision of the Senior Superintendent of Police in charge of Gampaha Division.

Tracing the dangerous and wanted couple in a short time by the Police is highly commended and appreciated.
