Three suspects involved in stealing from an agricultural equipment shop have been arrested, the Rathgama Police said today (December 19).
The Rathgama Police had conducted a raid yesterday on two suspects who were wanted for the crime of robbing money and gold belongings of a woman from an agricultural material and equipment shop located in Meegahajandura, Suriyawewa on December 13.
Accordingly, two suspects were arrested in Rathgama, Devinigoda area and another suspect, alleged to have supported it, has been arrested in Thanamalwila area.
The arrested suspects are aged 25, 30 and 42 respectively and are residents of Suriyawewa, Sevanagala and Walasmulla.
A revolver, two firearms, 3 binding guns, a gold necklace worth Rs. 700,000, stolen money of Rs. 300,000 and gunpowder were found in the possession of the suspects.
The Rathgama Police are conducting further investigations.
