The Terrorism Investigation Departkent (TID) arrested a 24 year old female from Mawanella for attending extremism training classes conducted by Easter Sunday attacks mastermind Zaharan Hasim, police said.
According to Police Spokesperson DIG Ajith Rohana, the suspect is a resident of Hingula, Mawanella. The suspect’s father and brothers are currently in remand custody over damaging Buddha statues in Mawanella area ahead of the attacks.
So far, seven women are in remand custody over the Easter Sunday attacks, according to the police.
