The Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (TRC) is to submit a report on websites used for sexual exploitation of children to courts on Monday (19).
Police said that the Criminal Investigation Department and Police Women and child Division filed a case regarding a 15-year-old girl being sold for prostitution via a website, and that they believe there were many such websites.
Therefore, the move was taken by the TRC following order issued by the courts requesting an in-depth report on websites that peddle Sri Lankan children for sexual acts.
The report submitted to courts would contain local websites which are using photos of children.
