Chairman and Secretary of the board of trustees at the Sri Kamatchi Amman Hindu temple in Jaffna were taken into custody for conducting a religious festival on Sunday violating COVID-19 health guidelines issued by the Ministry, Police said.
The annual chariot festival of the temple saw hundreds of devotees taking part without adhering to COVID-19 regulations. The arrested persons are to be produced before the Courts today.
