President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has extended the tenure of the Presidential Task Force on "One Country, One Law," by a further three months.
The Task Force was appointed on October 21 last year and its term was due to expire yesterday (February 28). However, the President issued a gazette notification last night further extending the term of the Task Force by a further three months.
In extending the term of the Task Force, the President has noted that it is necessary to seek the views of the public and the panels of experts covering all the provinces of the island.
The Presidential Task Force on "One Country, One Law" is headed by Ven. Galagodaaththe Gnanasara Thera.
