The Central Bank has imposed 100 per cent cash margin deposit requirement against importing of selected non-essential goods.
The goods include mobile phones, TVs, washing machines, refrigerators, rubber tyres, air conditioners and cosmetics, and food items such as fresh apples, oranges and fruit juices.
The Central Bank has issued a circular on the directive.
