The Crime Investigation Department (CID) has received 30 telephone recordings concerning the monetary fraud of the businesswoman, Thilini Priyamali now in custody .
The recordings have been handed over by former Governor Azath Salley.
The tapes include conversations with a Buddhist monk from a temple in Borella assuring those who have invested with Priyamali’s that she would pay back the money.
Earlier, Mr Salley had told how Priyamali was introduced to him and his friend by the director of One Transworks Square (Pvt.) Ltd., luring them to invest money with her group of companies, which would bring “good returns”.
In a related development a company in Kadawatha lodged a complaint against the business woman for issuing invalid cheques to the value of over 500,000 to purchase of mobile phone equipment from a company in Kadawatha.
She was produced to the Mahara Courts on Wednesday where she was remanded and ordered to be present at court again on November 9, by the Mahara Magistrate, Kanchana Niranjala De Silva.
However, she is already in remand custody over other cases.
