Three airline companies are to start travel with Sri Lanka from next month, Tourism Minister Prasanna Ranatunga said.
He elaborated that five airline companies would be starting to travel from Sri Lanka by the end of this year. Mr Ranatunga said that this was achieved following international meetings held by the tourism ministry.
Minister Ranatunga elaborated that from Monday, November 1 onwards Switzerland airline company Edelweiss is to provide a flight per week while Aeroflot Russian Airlines also will be providing two flights per week. He said in addition to that, Air France too would be starting flights from Wednesday November 3.
He added that Russian Azur Airlines and Italian Neos Airlines too would provide two flights per week, starting from the first week of December.
The Minister added that strict health regulations would be maintained while carrying out international air transportation.
