A three-member committee consisting of experts in forensic medicine have been nominated by the Director General of Health Services and recommended by the Attorney General to conduct a second post mortem on the deceased 16-year-old maid at the Bathiudeen residence, Police Spokesman SDIG Ajith Rohana said.
Jean Perera, Professor of Forensic Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Colombo, Dr. Sameera Gunawardena, Head of the Forensic Medicine Department of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Colombo and Dr Prabath Senasinghe, Consultant Judicial Medical Officer of the Peradeniya Teaching Hospital will conduct a second post mortem after the body is exhumed on Friday (30).
He said the body buried in Dayagama will be exhumed in the presence of the Magistrate of the areas and experts. Police are conducting further investigation into the death.
