The Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) expects a total of 400,000 tourists to have arrived by 2023 April 20.
SLTDA explained that as of 16 April, 55,000 tourists have entered the island for the month of April itself.
SLTDA pointed out that the target of 400,000 tourists will be reached by the 20th of this month. Most of the tourists who arrived since January were reported to be Russian and Indian nationalities.
The SLTDA further stated that Chinese tourist arrivals are now turning for the better and would be a primary force to be acknowledged with notably during the forthcoming off season and are expecting a further increase in the next few months.
