Two fishing boats that were left on the shores of Vadamarachchi in Northern Jaffna were set ablaze by a group of individuals yesterday (29), fishermen claimed.
The incident had occurred after the fishermen returned from fishing last night.
One boat was burned halfway while the other was completely destroyed by the fire. The boats worth nearly 200 000 were damaged beyond repair.
Upon filing a complaint to the Maruthankerny police, investigations are being carried out by the police.
