Two people have been killed following a shooting at a house on Watarappala Road, Mount Lavinia in the early hours of this morning (7).
Police Media Unit said two unidentified assailants who arrived on a motorbike opened fire on two persons in the house and fled.
One person died at the scene while the other was admitted to the Kalubowila Teaching Hospital in serious condition. However, he too later succumbed to his injuries.
The victims have been identified as a 36-year-old and a 20-year-old. Both are residents of Watarappala Road, Mount Lavinia.
The motive for the shooting remains unknown and Mount Lavinia Police are conducting investigations to arrest the gunmen.
