The vehicle of a clothing store owner whose body was found in a swimming pool in a residence under construction in Pelawatta has been found close to garage in the Negombo area.
The vehicle reportedly had experienced a machinal problem forcing the persons to leave the vehicle near the garage and escape.
Police were trying to track down the persons believed to be involved in the murder of the businessman.
The victim was identified as Roshan Wanninayake.
His sister had lodged a complaint at the Police that he had left his residence located in Mulleriyawa and had gone missing.
Police said in addition to his car, his purse including his credit cards too had been stolen. However they were looking into whether other valuables had been removed.
Police suspect that persons responsible for the murder had fled the country as the Credit card had been used at the Bandaranaike International Airport at Katunyayake.
