Veteran singer Nihal Nelson passed away this morning. He was 76 years.
Mr Nelson was also a songwriter and composer with his musical career spreading nearly six decades.
The remains will lie at his residence, No 17, Nihal Nelson Mawatha, Rawathawatta, Moratuwa. Funeral arrangements will be notified later.
He sang some beautiful songs which really touched the hearts of symphthetic listeners.One such song is " EPA EPA MAS KANNATA KIRIAMMAGE" May he be born in our country again to serve the Bila- Loving crowds of our society.
A Sri Lanka Air Force Bell 212 helicopter belonging to the No. 72 squadron has crashed into the Madhuru Oya reservoir this morning, Air FOrce Media Spokesman Eranda Geeganage said.
