A number of explosives and weapons were seized by officers of the Special Task Force (STF) in Buttala upon a raid conducted in a residence belonging to former United National Party MP and former Deputy Speaker Ananda Kumarasiri.
Two hand grenades, two guns - one made in England and the other in Russia and a pile of ammunition along with a set of bulletproof clothing were among the seized items.
An individual who identifies as “Okkampitiye Baby” that was present at the house when the raid was conducted, was arrested and handed over to the Wellawaya Police for further investigation.
