The present wet weather conditions over the island are most likely to intensify today (November 22), the Department of Meteorology said.
Most provinces of the island will see showers or thundershowers after 1:00 pm today, said duty meteorologist attached to the Department.
Heavy rainfall of about 100mm is expected in Central, Sabaragamuwa, Western, North-western, North-central, and Uva Provinces.
Besides, a few showers are possible in Northern and Eastern Provinces during morning hours, he said.
Several places in the sea areas around the island will witness showers or thundershowers particularly during the day or night.
