Agriculture Minister Mahinda Amaraweera claims that according to the estimates made by the Ministry of Agriculture, it has been confirmed that the crop damage caused by wild animals in Sri Lanka amounts to Rs. 54 billion per year.
The Hector Kobbekaduwa Agricultural Research and Training Institute has prepared a special report related to crop damage caused by wild animals and according to that report these facts have been revealed, the ministry in a press release.
