The body of a woman grabbed by a crocodile was found at Manik ganga at Kataragama, Aralaganwila police said.
A 75 old woman who was bathing at the Menik Ganga yesterday was grabbed and dragged into the water by a crocodile.
The police added that after they were notified they arranged a search operation calling both officers of Department Wildlife as well as the Army. They said that residents at the area too had helped to locate the crocodile which dragged the woman.
The body of the victim was found in the grasp of the crocodile and was recovered. The deceased woman was identified as a resident of Sella Kataragama.
The post mortem inquiry of the deceased is to be held at the Debarawewa hospital.
