Officers attached to the Intelligence Unit of the Special Task Force (STF) have arrested a 40-year-old woman in Kalubowila with 1.64 kilograms of heroin.
The woman is a resident of Kalubowila and further interrogation had revealed that she and her husband, who is a bus driver, had been distributing the heroin given to them by an overseas based drug trafficker.
The suspect is due to be produced before the Mt. Lavinia Magistrate's Court. The Police Narcotics Bureau is conducting further investigations.
