X-Press Pearl local agent company Chairman Arjuna Hettiarachchi has been released on bail by the High Court. He was released on a cash bond of Rs 100,000 and two personal bonds of Rs one million each.
An order was also issued to Mr Hettiarachchi not to leave the country and was told to hand over his passport to courts.
Earlier Mr Hettiarachchi was arrested and produced before High Court when he appeared at the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to give a statement this morning (16).

A Sri Lanka Air Force Bell 212 helicopter belonging to the No. 72 squadron has crashed into the Madhuru Oya reservoir this morning, Air FOrce Media Spokesman Eranda Geeganage said.
Update: Five of the twelve passengers on board the bell 212 aircraft that crashed into the Maduru Oya today, have succumbed to their injuries, the SLAF said.
