Police investigations are underway after the discovery of three bodies inside a house in Yahalathenna, Peradeniya.
The bodies belong to a man (52), his wife (44) and daughter (17). Police have identified the deceased male as the Opposition Leader of the Yatinuwara Pradeshiya Sabha.
Police say the male had taken his own life but the cause of death of the two females is yet to be determined. Peradeniya Police are investigating.
