A 23-year-old man was shot and killed early this morning (July 31) in the Duwamodara area, of Kosgoda Police Division.
Police said the victim was the son of the owner of a turtle conservation centre and was shot at his home with a T-56 firearm.
The gunman had arrived on a motorcycle, carried out the shooting, and escaped, according to the police.
The motive for the attack is not yet known, and investigations are ongoing to identify and arrest the suspect.The body is being kept at the Kosgoda Hospital under police protection, and further inquiries are being conducted by Kosgoda Police.
