Owing to heavy rains the A5 road which runs from Badulla - Bibile has been affected by repeated landslides.
As such the road has been closed from 6pm today (Dec 20) till 6am tomorrow (Dec 21) , according to the Badulla District Disaster Management Unit Assistant Director E. M Udayakumara.
Meanwhile, traffic has been disrupted due to the heavy downpour along several main roads. In addition, the Hatton -Nuwara Eliya main road, Hatton-Colombo main road and many other roads are covered in thick fog.
As a result, the Police are requesting the drivers to be cautious while driving on theses roads.
