Colombo Additional Magistrate Nishanta Peiris yesterday turned down a request by actress Aksha Sudhari that she be allowed to access her bank accounts which were frozen by Court. Sudhari who is alleged to have been involved in defraudment of Rs. 140 million. The Court had issued an order to freeze her bank accounts in connection with the incident. Meanwhile, the Additional Magistrate further rejected a request by the suspect that her bail conditions be amended enabling her not to appear before the CID every Sunday. At a previous occasion, she was ordered to be appear before the CID every Sunday. The Defence Counsel told Court that his client had complied with the Court order by regularly reporting before the CID. However, the Additional Magistrate rejected the request made by the defence and directed the CID that a report regarding her attendance at the CID be submitted in Court during the next hearing date. Further magisterial inquiry was fixed for December 17.
