The government has recieved a grant and concessional loan for a sum of US$ 50 million from the Asian Development Bank to implement a Health System Enhancement Project in the country.
The total cost of the project amounting to US$ 60 million, will be implemented in the Uva, Sabaragamuwa, Central and North Central provinces, the Ministry of External Resource said in a press release.
According to the release, financing from the ADB includes a grant of US$ 12.5 million and a concessional loan of US$ 37.5 million while the government's investment for the project amounted to US$10 million.
Dr. R.H.S Samarathunga, Secretary to the Ministry of Finance and Mass Media signed the agreement on behalf of Sri Lanka.
