The Attorney General (AG)'s Department has filed 6,695 cases over child abuse cases so far this year.
Statistics released by the AG's Department show that 3427 charges have been filed by its Criminal Branch while 3268 have been filed by its Child Protection Unit.
Meanwhile, the Department has also provided legal advice to 1778 child-abuse related cases between January and September.
According to statistics, the highest number of indictments had been filed in June.
