The Attorney General's Department has informed the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) today (Jan. 16) to arrest the Swiss Embassy staffer who alleged to have been abducted.
State Counsel Nishara Jayaratne confirmed that the Attorney General had given the order for the arrest of the staffer as she was accused of fabricating evidence.

Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa is due to vacate his official residence at Wijerama Mawatha, Colombo this morning, a Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) source said.
The Presidents’ Entitlements (Repeal) Bill was passed by a majority of 150 in parliament today. However the opposition MP’s were absent during the voting.
