The Attorney General will present further oral submissions before the Special High Court on June 17 in the case against the former President's chief-of-staff and three others.
During today's hearing, Deputy Solicitor General Thusith Mudalige continued oral submissions for the fifth day on behalf of Attorney General Dappula de Livera.
Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa's chief-of-staff Gamini Senarath, former Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation Managing Director Piyadasa Kudabalage, and Lasantha Bandara have been named as the accused in the petition.
They are alleged to have misapropriated Rs 500 million worth funds belonging to Litro Gas Lanka Pvt (Ltd.). Charges have been levelled against the suspects under the Public Property Act, Money Laundering Act, and the Penal code.
The Attorney General claims that the suspects had committed the fraud between February 1, 2014 and January 20, 2015.
