The Air Force has deployed its personnel for a special security operation at Embassies and leading hotels in the wake of last Sunday's tragic incidents in the country.
Foreigners now expect security personnel to be deployed at these places unlike the period during the LTTE war during which much reluctance was shown towards security personnel guarding these venues, an Air Force spokesman said.
Accordingly, special security checks will be carried out by Air Force personnel opposite hotels and Embassies although these inspections will not take place inside these entities.
Further, the Air Force has undertaken the responsibility of guarding religious places of worship starting from Kotahena upto Meegamuwa. In addition, Air Force personnel have also been deployed for security at the Kalubowila hospital.
