Deputy Mayor of the Akkaraipattu Municipal Council, Abdul Ghafoor Asmi has been arrested by the Terrorist Investigations Department today (Jan 17).
Police said that the arrest was made since he did not appear before courts in an ongoing hearing.
He will be produced before the Colombo Magistrates Court today.
