Minister of Housing and Construction, Sajith Premadasa yesterday (Dec 26) said it is the duty of every government irrespective of its political party to support athletes who have brought glory to the country.
Mr. Premadasa made these remarks at an event during which a house was donated to Youth Olympic medal winner, Parami Wasanthi yesterday.
The house was donated as a part of a housing project that is being carried out by the Urban Settlement Development Authority.
The Ministry of Housing said the house was worth Rs 03 million.
This is the 23rd house that has been donated to athletes who have won awards in both National and International levels.
