All schools in the Northern Province will be closed tomorrow (Nov 05) and in lieu of the closure classes are to commence additionally on November 10. These arrangements have been made in lieu of the Deepawali Festival which falls tomorrow (Nov 6).
The order to close schools during the said timeframe was issued by Governor Reginald Cooray.
Former Minister and leader of the Eelam People’s Democratic Party (EPDP) Douglas Devenanada was arrested by the Criminal investigation Department (CID) today.
