All train services will be temporarily stopped from 3.30 pm today until 6 am on Monday (23) due to an islandwide police curfew which would be coming into effect today, Railway Control Room said.
Police have asked members of the public to remain in their houses during the curfew period. Issuing a media release, Acting Inspector General of Police (IGP) C.D. Wickramaratne states that the curfew is being imposed to prevent persons from violating regulations imposed under the Quarantine and Prevention of Diseases Ordinance to prevent the spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) in the country.
