Former Sri Lanka Captain Kumar Sangakkara is currently at the Special Investigations Unit of the Sports Ministry to record a statement over alleged claims of match fixing at the 2011 Cricket World Cup final between India and Sri Lanka. Mr Sangakkara was the skipper of the team at that time.
The statement is being recorded as part of the ongoing investigations into allegations levelled by former Sports Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage saying that the final of 2011 Cricket World Cup was fixed.
Earlier Mr Sangakkara rejected the claims of the former Minister and challenged him to take the evidence to the International Cricket Council (ICC) for a probe.
