A total of 609 COVID-19 cases has been reported this evening (23), the Government Information Department stated.
The new cases include 496 individuals linked to the Peliyagoda Fisheries Market, 20 from the Beruwala Fisheries Harbour, five from the Galle Fisheries Harbour and 40 close contacts. The other 48 cases were listed as Brandix apparel factory employees and their close contacts who are in quarantine.
The latest cases take the number of COVID-19 cases linked to the Minuwangoda cluster to 3426.
