The Anti-Corruption Committee Secretariat will continue its operations until the establishment of a Serious Fraud Office, the Government stated today.
According to the Governmen,t serious attention has been paid on restructuing the anti-corruption institutional structure and it has been proposed to establish a fully powered Serious Fraud Office in Sri Lanka which is similar to the Serious Frauds Office in the United Kingdom.
Accordingly, the proposal made by Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, to continue the operations of the above secretariat which was established in 2015 until such a Serious Fraud Office is introduced, was approved by the Cabinet of Ministers.
