Security Force Headquarters-Mullaitivu recently enlisted thirty four Tamil youths to the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF) from Mullaitivu area and commenced recruit training for them at Pudukuduirippu Battalion Training School on Monday under the directions of Major General Jagath Dias, the Army said. The recruit training will continue for 16 weeks under the supervision of the 15 Sri Lanka Artillery (SLA). The training programme and demonstrations are to be conducted in both Tamil and Sinhala medium. After completion of the basic recruit training, those tradesmen will be posted in the field as Mechanics, Electricians, Welders, Plumbers and Masons to the Service Regiments in the Sri Lanka Army.
