The Army has planned a transport service to facilitate the pensioners to draw their monthly pensions by providing them transport to their respective banks from their residences from April 1-2 payment days, Head of the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) Army Commander Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva said today.
The move by the Army was taken considering the difficulties faced by senior citizens accessing banks during ongoing curfew in the country. Accordingly, the Army has requested those who are in need of transport service to contact their Grama Nialadhari to arrange the facilities.
